The name is Jose A.K.A DJ Confidential and success in the making is the game. I started deejaying at the age of 15. Unlike many other deejays that bought Technics 1200s as their first turntables, I bought the DJ Craze Stanton package with two turntables and mixer with the money from my 15th birthday. Growing up as a kid my parents only played Latin American music at home. Such music played was merengue, salsa, bachata and classical music. My true influence for deejaying came from Hip-Hop. Although Hip-Hop music could not be heard at home, it was inevitable when I stepped out to the streets of New York City.
How did I get the name DJ CONFIDENTIAL? It was 9th grade year seating in 2nd period English class looking through the dictionary. Why did I choose the name confidential? I chose the name confidential because it represented me being the unknown deejay at the time. Also through that time I was practicing the art form of deejaying at home. What made me become a DJ? I was at a family gathering and my cousin talked about deejaying. He wanted to become a dj, but never executed his plan. At that point in time the now famous YouTube was booming. I took advantage of the opportunity. I searched for videos of former DMC champion Deejays like DJ Q-BERT and DJ-CRAZE. As I observed the videos I manipulated their record movements onto my turntables. At first it was not easy but after a few sessions I began to show progress. After that every thing was history. I can honestly say that my skills deejaying have grown tremendously, but that still isn’t enough. I am still practicing and hungry to one day be the G.O.A.T. ( Greatest Of All Time)
